Valkyria Midvinterblot

Appearance: attractive golden hue. No visible sediment.

Louche: very weak. Almost more of a haze than a louche.

Aroma: Ooooooh. This smells heavenly. The aromas of Christmas. Anise, minty wormwood, and most of all, a sweet cinnamon. Baking spices out the wazoo.

Flavor: Thin mouthfeel, but DELICIOUS. Not quite a traditional flavor, but lots of sweet baking spices. The anise is partnered with cinnamon in a way that another brand tried to do but failed. This one is an absolute success.

Finish: A bakery in your mouth. Makes you want more and more.

Overall: Don't let the score scare you away. Yes, the louche isn't great. But this is a perfect libation for the holidays. I am enjoying sitting by the fire with the Christmas tunes in the background sipping on this drink. If you like the flavors and aromas of the holidays, you really should pick up a bottle of this.
