Elixir du Pays des Fées

Overall:
Simple, but delightful. Traditional daily drinker. I keep looking for more complexity, but this one is pretty simple, yet everything that's there is exquisite. This is a la bleue that other la bleues should strive to be.

Aroma:
Bold, jumps out of the glass and fills the room especially during the louche. Big fruity anise, creamy, and earthy in the background.
Appearance:
Clear as crystal. Then it turns a snowy blue. Think of a slightly overcast snowy day where the landscape seems to turn blue.
Louche:
Magnificent! Builds at a nice speed giving you more time to appreciate the blues and purples.
Taste:
Creamy, fruity, blueberry, anise, and powdered sugar fennel. Minty, bitter mid palate. Wonderful mouthfeel, rich, full bodied. Flowers and coriander. After a few sips, the anise gets tingly. Not super complex, but these flavors are incredible. Sometimes in Indian restaurants, you'll find something called "mukhwas" or "mouthfresheners" at the counter, which is just a bowl of spices including sugar coated fennel, coriander, and other spices. This absinthe reminds me of chewing on a handful of mukhwas. It has the fresh herb and spice taste to it. I bumped this down slightly, only because I'd like a little more complexity.
Finish:
My mouth feels very fresh. It begins with bold, rich anise, then you exhale the boldness away and are left with sugar coated fennel, powdered sugar, and a very refreshing light minty coolness.
